Purpose of policy  This policy establishes the requirements for applying for and awarding of the versatility awards for qualifying dogs.
Policy statement  This policy establishes three levels of versatility awards:

a) VCC – Versatile Chinese Crested.

b) VCCA – Versatile Chinese Crested Advanced.

c) VCCX – Versatile Chinese Crested Excellent.

The eligibility requirements for the various certificates are as follow:

a) VCC – The primary owner must be a member of the American Chinese Crested Club. Requires at least 5 Versatility Points from at least 2 of the categories.

b) VCCA – The primary owner must be a member of the American Chinese Crested Club. Requires at least 10 Versatility Points from at least 3 of the categories.

c) VCCX – The primary owner must be a member of the American Chinese Crested Club. Requires at least 15 Versatility Points from at least 3 of the categories, of which a minimum of 3 Versatility Points must be from the Conformation category (this means that to receive a VCCX the dog must be a breed champion).

When applying for the award, only the highest achievement at the time of the award will count towards the Versatility Award.

Ex. A dog with a conformation Championship will not be awarded additional points for being Major pointed but will receive the points only for the Championship.

When applying for additional awards, the Versatility Points are cumulative, meaning that they do not need to be re-awarded.

Ex. Three (3) Versatility Points from earning a conformation Championship will count towards a VCC award and will be counted again towards a dog’s VCCA award.

Ex. A dog who was Major Pointed (1 versatility point) when applying for the VCC award but who earns his Championship before applying for the VCCA award will be given credit for the Championship (3 versatility points) as its new highest achievement but the points earned for being Major Pointed will no longer be counted.

Only achievements earned or recognized via the American Kennel Club are recognized.

Only living dogs are eligible for the awards and the primary owner of the dog must be a member of ACCC at the time the application is submitted to qualify the dog for a Versatility Award.
