CORRESPONDING SECRETARY
Angela Patchen, Ohio
I have lived with a variety of purebred dogs over the last 25 years. I started out in performance, training and competing in AKC obedience and rally and eventually schutzhund. In 2011, I purchased a male, powderpuff Chinese Crested. Riot was the first dog I showed in conformation and thus my first dog to earn a Championship. By this time, we had owned five breeds and this was the first one my husband and I agreed we will always have in our house.
In 2012, we took in Riot’s littermate, Sobe, who earned her Beginner Novice in obedience. I started attend ACCC National in 2019 with my third Chinese Crested. That year, I became a member and decided to get more involved with the club. I made a point of meeting more breeders and other club members, joining the board and volunteering at the National events – helping set up rooms, arranging vendors, and coordinating the Chuck-A-Duck fundraiser.
I eventually took on the role of Corresponding Secretary. I have added two more powderpuff Chinese Cresteds to my family, a male who is competing in agility and a female who should be in the show ring soon.
